Band Members = Karen Monty - Drums, Karen started playing the drums at an early age of Ten. She studied during grade school and high school in Chicago with Chick Evans. Once she mastered the ever important but oh so boring snare drum rudiments, she learned the marimba, timpani and went on to master the drum set. At Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, she received straight A’s in percussion ensemble and instrumental ensemble. Under the direction of Rupert Kettle, the Aquinas College Percussion Ensemble played everything from brake drums and saw blades to traditional drum sets. She continued playing while earning her Masters from Michigan State University. After college she moved back to Chicago and played with an all girl band called Tri-X, hindsight says not a real good name for 3 piece girl band. Eventually, Karen landed in Albuquerque, New Mexico forming the female duo UnI (pronounced You ‘n’ I). UnI produced two original CD's and performed for numerous audiences around the country including opening for Alana Davis, 32 flavors fame, Melissa Ferrick and Grammy Nominated Sixpence None the Richer, Kiss me fame. Karen also played with the following bands formed in Albuquerque: Brand New Crash, an alternative original rock group; 4Play and LastMinute, classic rock covers and Duke City Saints playing classic & modern rock. Dawn Durkin, Vocals - Dawn a native New Mexican has been singing for 30 years.
