He is a staff bass instructor at Grandma's Music. Donny has been playing bass as a professional for over 35 years. He received a full scholarship to travel and perform with the Up With People organization for the 1978/79 season. From 1979 through 1982 Donny traveled as a pro bassist in a top 40 R&B band visiting 30 states and Canada. After returning from the road in the winter of 83 he moved to Las Vegas Nevada. He endured over 4 years of the Vegas music scene working most of the grueling casino circuit. Donny moved his young family to New Mexico in early 1988 where he became a high demand bassist for many of NM's top latin bands and entertainers as a touring musician, studio musician, producer and musical director. Donny has recorded on over 300 songs since 1988 including over 30 Cd's. One of those songs was "Te Amo" by Sparx reaching Number 1 on the Latin Billboard in 1994. Donny Tesso currently is musical director for Lorenzo Antonio and Sparx in his 5th year. Donny also works with many of NM's finest musicians and bands as a hired hand for live performances and recordings. Some of these artists and bands are Sol-Fire, Al Hurricane, Sorela, Soul Divine, Gonzalo, Tobias Rene, Soul Static, Rhythm Divine, Tracey Whitney, Ryan Montano and others.
